It’s just TV

Relax. No one was hurt when what looked like an LAPD squad car was broadsided  this afternoon on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park.  A crew for the TV show “Southland” was in the neighborhood to shoot some realistic scenes on Sunset and Elysian Park Avenue that prompted one Eastsider reader to call in to find out what was going on. A filming notice had warned residents to expect  “Semi-Automatic Full Load Gunfire,” ” Stunt Driving  Car Crash,” “Simulated Bullet hits on things,” “actors dressed as police” and “weapons brandished.”

The only thing that was real on Sunset Boulevard was the traffic that was backed up as the crew shot the scenes and cleaned up.

  1. I loved seeing our neighborhoods on “Southland”… before I cut my cable.
