Echo Park firehouse burglars entered through open door

How did burglars break into the Echo Park fire station last week? They entered through the back door that was left open by one of the firefighters , said Rampart burglary detective Mario Mota. “This was a crime of opportunity as the rear door was left open by a firefighter arriving to work to start his shift.” The door was propped open with a rope.

The LAPD is still looknig for the burglars who stole firefighters’ personal property as well as department-issued boots, jackets and other equipment.
