Highland Park PTA teams up with pizza parlor to benefit school program

The PTA at Aldama Elementary  is holding a fundraiser at Folliero’s Pizza and Italian Food in the most recent one-day fundraisers held in partnership between the Highland Park school and local businesses.  Folliero’s has agreed to donate 20% of sales during the late afternoon and early evening  of Tuesday, April 24 to benefit  the school’s Playworks Program. Monica Alcaraz with the Aldama PTA provides more detail

Folliero’s Pizza and Italian Food is hosting a fundraiser for Aldama Elementary. The event will take place on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 3-8 pm. Folliero’s will generously donate 20% of sales generated to Aldama Elementary by friends, family and supporters of Aldama. Supporters must mention Aldama Elementary for the school to receive credit for the sale. We are very   excited that Folliero’s is supporting our school as many of the Aldama families are avid patrons and had asked that they be approached to host a fundraiser.  We are encouraging people to call in their orders for pick up to avoid a long wait time at (323) 454-0505. Folliero’s is located at 5566 N. Figueroa St. in Highland Park.

The Aldama Elementary PTA will use the proceeds from this fundraiser to support its Playworks Program, which cost $25,500 per year.  Playworks has become an important part of the schools culture and has had a tremendous impact on helping to reduce conflicts on the playground, as well as keeping our children active.

These fundraisers are becoming increasingly more important as next years schools budget has been cut once again.  The PTA  is aggressively looking for resources and opportunities for funding. The Aldama PTA is very grateful for the community support it has received.
