For those who love to hear soul, punk and swing music, here’s a band that will cover all your musical bases during the same show. The 10-piece Abe Lincoln Story will return to Taix restaurant in Echo Park this week for the first in a series of shows to take place on the Friday of the month.  Here, according to a band press release, is what you can expect:

Combined with a full horn section and sexy backup singers, the band performs original compositions written by founder/singer Steve Moramarco on subjects as diverse as refrigerators and robots. A new CD entitled “It’s ‘Story Time with The Abe Lincoln Story” will be released in May.

All shows – which are scheduled for April 6, May 4, June 1 and July 6 – are free and start at 10 p.m.
