Fire damages Echo Park garage

Firefighters took about 20 minutes to knock down a fire that broke out tonight in the garage of an Echo Park home. No injuries were reported as a result of the the fire reported shortly before 10 p.m. at  1825 N. Lucretia, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department Twitter feed. The fire was confined to the garage. Residents reported hearing firefighters cutting away brush to keep the blaze from spreading.

  1. Thanks for getting the story. I find it amazing that its only the garage that was ruined. Honestly, from my view point across the opposite hillside, it appeared like the entire house was aflamed. Very scary moment, the flames were up in the air in seconds, made me wonder about their roofing material (and reassess my own). Thank god we have amazing firefighters taking care of us, they knocked the flames down f-a-s-t! Again should be a reminder for all of us living within the trees to keep our properties maintained from dry brush.
