  1. That’ll help the popularity of Mariachi Plaza!

    Way to go, idiots.

  2. There goes the gentrification buzz for Boyle Heights, the current residents win!

    • Your assumption is that gentrification is a good idea, even during an economic downturn? Echo Park is a cesspool compared to Boyle Heights, with all those homes crawling and hovering over each other, along with the large concentration of people. About the only good thing about Echo Park is that it is in the rearview mirror as your approach Hollywood.

      • Oh Don,
You seem to be one of many that refuse to accept the reality that “your” neighborhood is being repopulated by the people who lived there before you!

You see, “Sancho”, we aren’t afraid of your bigotry and racism any more.

I look forward to eating a shopping cart bacon wrapped hot dog with you soon.

        Elbow to greasy elbow,

  3. Latest reports say it was likely a gang related incident. Echo Park, Highland Park, Lincoln Heights and even Silverlake deal with these issues from time to time. I guess it’s a part of life when you choose to live on the east side. Don’t think it will stop the gentrification, there seems to be a lot of change happening in Boyle Heights that continues to draw people to the area. It’s too bad we continue to see these kinds of things happening.

    • Hahahaha. “On the east side.” I’ll give you Lincoln Heights as part of the East Side, but to think that Mecho Park and Highland Park are on the “east side”, you have fallen for that lamebrain idea of what the East Side really is. Sorry, it means Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles ONLY!

This argument is null and void, end of discussion.

  4. People get shot every day. This is not news or a sign or a reason to disperage a community. such is life.

  5. Federico Pipitas

God Bless the victim. Why the senseless shootings?

  6. When I was growing up in City Terrace we considered Echo Park and Silverlake to be on the west side, since it was west of Downtown L.A. Highland Park and Lincoln heights were considered N’ELA. To me, it doesn’t really matter what side anyone calls it, it just sucks when people get shot in any neighborhood.

  7. Was the victim black?

  8. We Love & Miss u Eddie. You will forever live in our Hearts.

  9. Miss u. I still can’t believe your gone 🙁

  10. you wana last,be the first to blast !! now whassup henry leva !!
