Lila Downs to kick off upcoming season at The Luckman

The year is not half over but The Luckman Fine Arts Complex today announced its upcoming 2012-2013 season, which begins with a Sept. 22 concert featuring Mexican singer and composer Lila Downs. The line up for the 19th season reflects the Luckman’s goal to present “genre-bending and boundary pushing” singers, dancers and performers from around the world at the El Sereno campus. Other performers include Paris-based Yoann Lemoine, a director, singer, songwriter known by the alias Woodkid; Georgian pianist Khatia Buniatishvili; Israeli musician Idan Raichel and RUBBERBANDance, a Montreal-based dance troupe that blends hip-hop and contemporary ballet.
