Found: Frightened Beagle-mix in Silver Lake

Submitted by M. Farrar

I’m sending  a photo of a very frightened and malnourished dog we found barking and cowering between my car and some bushes on the curb, down the street and around the corner from Satellite. She looks to be about 35-40 pounds, light brown, large beagle-type mix mutt. A really sweet face and floppy ears. She looked sadly malnourished, and had a broken chain around her neck. No collar, no tags. Probably not fixed. She looks like she either escaped a bad situation or was dumped, but who knows. Either way, it’s heart-breaking. Attached is a pic we snapped of her as Animal Services was picking her up. I figured the least I could do was send her photo and details out into the world and see if anyone is interested in rescuing her or if anyone knows someone who works with a rescue group who might be able to check her out. She’s being held at the North Central Shelter on Lacy Street in LA. Here’s a link to the shelter. http://www.laanimalservices.com/about_us/Shelters_North_Central.htm

  1. Poor dog! So sad!

  2. I have searched every dog at the North Central Shelter to try and find this dog and I’m coming up empty! Can M. Farrar provide an ID#? And a date that the dog was picked up by Animal Services? I would like to try and help this poor dog, but if I can’t find her, I can’t help her!
    Thank you!
