Sunday morning detour on Echo Park Avenue

Northbound drivers on Echo Park Avenue are facing an unexpected detour this morning after a large tree branch collapsed Saturday night and blocked the street  just north of Scott Avenue. City workers set up a barricade at Scott Avenue, with one worker saying the large branch might not be cleared away until Monday. Some drivers, however, were not going to wait for the branch to be removed. They simply drove around the barricade and headed up the wrong side of the street (bottom photo).

Bring Out Your Chainsaws And Cut It Up People . Do U Want To Wait 4 The City. If I Lived There I Would Get My Chainsaw And Cut It And Leave Cutup Tree On The Side Curb So The City Can Remove The Cutup Tree”

  2. You do realize that capitalizing every word in a sentence is not just incorrect, but extremely strange, right?

    Sorry . . . just couldn’t resist . . . but I should have tried harder, RIGHT?

  5. I drove by this about an hour before the collapse and distinctly remembering thinking to myself, dam, that branch is REALLY low (like, barely taller than my normal-sized car). I come back an hour later, and it broke off. ODD.
