Found: Chocolate Pit Bull-Lab mix up for adoption

Submitted by S. Lynch

I volunteer sometimes at the Lacy Street Animal Shelter, and had noticed that this lady had been in there for a while. When I asked about her, they said she was on “24 hour notice” which means at any time they could come pick her up to be euthanized (could be that day, could be months from now)- but I didn’t want to risk it, so I adopted her and am now trying to find her a good home (which I’m hoping you all can help with).

She’s a super sweet, quiet and friendly girl, who loves other dogs (a lot) and enjoys snuggling. She so far seems like she’s housebroken, she seems very loyal to her owners and has a good amount of energy (so is probably best suited to someone who is looking for a cutie to take on runs or who really likes the dog park). She’s about a year old, we think a pit-chocolate lab and something small mix (she’s 40 lbs.) and doesn’t know tricks (we’re working on sit, and she responds to NO), but seems enthusiastic about learning and pleasing her owners. She’d be a great companion to someone who is looking for loyal and playful company.
