Los Feliz Boulevard residents warned of burglaries and sexual assaults

Police today warned Los Feliz residents of a burglar who might have been involved in at least two sexual assaults during a string of break-ins into apartments and homes on Los Feliz Boulevard. At least two of the 11 burglaries reported between March and Aug. 9 involved a case of sexual battery, said Detective Danetta Menifee with the LAPD’s Special Assault Section, Robbery-Homicide Division. The suspect had sexual contact with the victims while they slept. Menifee said burglary detectives are reviewing victims to gather more information as they search for the suspect, described as a Latino male between the ages of 25 t0 30 years old with a mustache, dark complexion and slim build.

Residents should take extra precautions to secure doors as well windows.  In many of the cases, the burglar entered the residences through open windows, Menifee said Anyone with information about the crimes are asked to contact Detective  Menifee or Detective Blanca Lopez at  (213) 486-6910, during regular business hours.
