Scoops of Banana Oreo and Brown Bread ice cream now serving in Highland Park

Here’s the scoop: Scoops is now open in Highland Park. You’d hardly know it, but the L.A. ice cream shop has opened a new location on York Boulevard. Currently incognito—there’s no signage—the small storefront is right next door to Italiano’s and not much more than white walls and an ice cream case. There are just a few seats inside right now, but we can expect more decor in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, don’t let its plain Jane exterior hold you back. Go in and try what is arguably the best ice cream in town.  Earlier this week they were serving up Brown Bread, Banana Oreo, Cherry Rum, Olive Oil Marscapone, and Chocolate Almond to name a few. I’m hoping for Guinness Chocolate in the near future.

They’re open Monday-Saturday from 2 p.m. – 9 p.m. , and the prices are great. Together, the two cups of ice cream shown above came to about $5.80 total.

  1. Big fan of the original Scoops, so happy they opened three blocks away from my house. Went lat Saturday and it was a great as usual. The people working were super friendly as well.

  2. Scoops is the best ice cream I’ve had in all of Los Angeles. I am happy that owner as affable as Tai Kim has expanded, and bringing his delicious flavors into another part of L.A.

  6. This is a great place to meet up with someone u met on Craigslist but they pay..lol..good stuff Cold stone style ice cream…with this heat can’t go wrong choc almond amazing…
