Highland Park gets down to business

A cruise down Figueroa Street and York Boulevard will reveal many new businesses across Highland Park.  On Saturday, those newcomers and long-time Highland Park business owners (with and without storefronts) will get a chance to meet, greet and exchange business cards during a small business mixer hosted by the Historic Highland Park Neighborhood Council. It’s the first such mixer  in years hosted by the council, said  Aaron Salcido, a newly elected neighborhood council member who had pledged to help neighborhood businesses. “The goal of the event is to create an opportunity for business owners to meet, mingle and network with each other as well as to create a forum for them to express their concerns to the city,” Salcido said.

Councilman Ed Reyes and State Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez are scheduled to attend the mixer, which will be held on Saturday, April 20 at 5 pm. at Judson Studios. It’s free to attend by an RSVP is requested. Click here for more details.
