Rush-hour traffic on Whittier Boulevard in East Los Angeles was a bit snarled late Thursday afternoon when a water line under the sidewalk apparently burst, filling the street with water. CHP had to redirect traffic at one point around the water line break in the 6100  of Whittier Boulevard. Cal Water Service Company crews worked into the night to fix the leak.
