Storefront Report: Silver Lake restaurant showing signs of reopening

It’s been a while since anyone has sat down for a meal at Reservoir.   Owner Gloria Felix put her Silver Lake Boulevard  restaurant, formerly Netty’s, up for sale early last year.  It’s not clear what prompted Felix to close the place or if she was even successful at selling the place, which sits near the bustling LA Mill coffee boutique and L&E Oyster Bar. But someone is working away at reopening the restaurant at the corner of Silver Lake Boulevard and Effie Street.

Online city records show a building permit has been pulled to renovate the interior of the restaurant, according to the Building & Safety Department. Meanwhile,  the owners are also seeking permission from the city to upgrade the current beer and wine permit to serve a full-line of alcohol.   The Eastsider has attempted to contact the restaurant owner but so far not gotten any response about their plans.

  1. I miss the back door bakery mmmmm those cranberry stuff croissants. That spot has been vacant for years.

    • I miss it, too, Ferrg. It’s a bit of a hike, but should you ever find yourself out Sunland way, Back Door Bakery is alive and well out there at 8658 Foothill Boulevard.

  2. It appears that Reservoir did not survive some truly ferocious early reviews…

  3. They should replace that wall with the three small windows with a large glass roll-up to make the inside and outside one.

  4. I liked the Hawaiian/Teriyaki spot (before Netty’s). I forget the name…anyone? This is going back a bit, to 1986-87 I think. That owner moved back to Hawaii….

  5. that is a prime spot for a parking lot! LA does not need ANOTHER restaurant! zzzz….zzz…
