The Eastsider comments section goes Hollywood!

After an enthusiastic response to last March’s presentation of   “Unmoderated: A Reading of Eastsider Comments,”   The Eastsider is proud to announce that the show inspired by our lively/crazy comments section is going on the road.  Next stop, Hollywood, where an expanded version of Unmoderated, directed by Rory Mitchell, will be presented on  June 8 at The Hollywood Fringe FestivalClick here to buy your tickets now.

A group of actors will bring The Eastsider comments section to life with tales of gentrification, abandoned sofas,  homicide and hipsters.  The show–featuring performances by Noel Arthur, Bob Kundrat, Kimberly Irion, Jennifer Defilippo and others–will draw upon a sample of some of the thousands of comments  left by readers on the blog in 2012.

Even the often hard-to-please Eastsider commenters  offered some positive reviews of the first presentation of Unmoderated :

Great event!! Hope you have many more readings. – DiMo

I’m glad I didn’t miss it! It was one of the funniest and truly endearing pieces of “theater” I’ve ever seen here in beautiful Echo Park. I recognized one of my comments, too. – Lambskins

They’re mocking us, aren’t they? – EP Neighbor

  1. Not another neighbour

As much as I love reading the eastsider comments the show is kind of a poor mans version of Adam Buxtons ‘Bug’ in that its content is less funny and the material isn’t presented as well. Still.., good effort.

  2. And you’re not just submitting that comment as an entry for the Hollywood reading?

  3. Nobody wants you there anyway, fancy pants “NeighboUr.” This was the funniest theater I’ve ever seen, and I can’t wait to see it at the Fringe.
