Car gets snagged in Echo Park power line*

Traffic on Glendale Boulevard in Echo Park has been virtually shut down this morning after an SUV got snagged in a low-hanging power line, reports NBC. An earlier accident between a vehicle and a utility pole apparently caused the line to sag low over the street across from Echo Park Lake.

* Update: Traffic lanes have been reopened.

  1. Thought they were filming “Fast 7”

  2. Rush Hour Fun!

  3. Another shocking development

  4. Saw news video, amazed by this — strength of those wires, wow.

  5. Was that a power line or communications line? Generally com lines hang lower on the utility poles and generally power lines make a nice big spark/BBQ when you run into them. NBC 4 used the term utility line, and firefighters tend to wait for DWP to discharge live wires before they enter a scene. Are you sure it was a “power” line?

  6. My dad got hit buy that stupid fucken SUV its there fault he almost dided nd hes badly injured thanks to there stupid fucken asses know there sueing them so fuck u all my dad was goin for a jog fuck them all its there fault
