Found: Friendly baby bunny crossing Echo Park street

Submitted by Michela

Tonight [June 5] around 8pm, I found a baby rabbit (or perhaps a dwarf rabbit?) crossing Montrose St street near the intersection of Montrose & Santa Ynez. It’s grey, tiny, and very friendly with humans. Because I have a dog, I dropped the rabbit off at the North Central Animal Shelter (3201 Lacy Street, 888-452-7381).

  1. Poor little guy!

  2. Hi, I tried to call the shelter to rescue this bunny. They told me that no bunny of that description was delivered to the north central shelter. Something seems wrong… if you cna let me know where the bunny was taken, I can rescue it. Please send details!!

    • Hi Sheli,

I definitely dropped the bunny off at 3201 Lacy Street (North Central Animal Shelter), around 10pm on June 5th. A night worker checked the animal in. Although they took down my info, I wasn’t give a confirmation number or anything like that.

I believe shelters “hold” animals for a certain amount of time before releasing them for adoption, in the event the original owners come forward. Perhaps that’s why they can’t find the bunny in the system? Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help you in your search, I’d love to see the bunny go to a home.

  3. Any updates on the bunny?
