Highland Park Summer Soda Tasting benefits Southwest Museum coalition

Pop Stars guzzle their custom-made soda concoctions from the Creation Station at Galco’s./Martha Benedict

The third-annual Summer Soda Tasting brought out the fans of unique and rare sodas to Highland Park on Sunday afternoon to sample, buy and even make their favorite carbonated brews. The event at Galco’s Soda Pop doubled as a fundraiser for the Friends of the Southwest Museum, which is dedicated to the reopening of  the Mt. Washington landmark.

Martha Benedict was on hand to take photos of the soda sippers that gathered at Galco’s for an afternoon of sipping and shopping.

  1. This event was $15 to enter (so the person at table informed me). I can buy a 12 pack of soda for $3.

I have mixed feelings about Galco’s. Everything in the store is ridiculously expensive. I don’t understand how it stays in business, it’s such a niche market.
