Glendale Boulevard in Silver Lake was shut down near the 2 Freeway this evening after a pickup truck collided with a car coming off the freeway and then toppled a power pole, downing power lines in the area.

Craig Collins snapped photos and collected some information about the crash that took place at about 7:40 p.m.:

A white pickup panel truck traveling north on Glendale Blvd. apparently ran a red light and collided with a vehicle exiting the Glendale Blvd. offramp from the 2 Freeway and struck a power pole, knocking it down and crashing into a property on Glendale Blvd, according to LAPD officers at the scene.

DWP, LA Fire and LAPD were promptly on the scene and closed traffic on Glendale Blvd. while securing the area due to downed power lines. The driver of the truck was being treated for injuries.”
