Echo Park’s concert calendar adds another music festival

Bedrock L.A. will host the Bedrocktoberfest

By Marni Epstein

Apparently the music does not stop in Echo Park.  Only a few weeks after the Echo Park Rising music festival, the L.A. Weekly and the Bedrock L.A. music studio complex announced that the first-ever BEDROCKtoberfest  will be held in Echo Park in early October –  only a week before Filter Magazine’s Culture Collide Festival brings more bands, as well as films and art, to Echo Park.

BEDROCKtoberfest  will be held on Saturday, October 5 from 3 pm to 10 pm outside Bedrock LA. Perhaps you better know Bedrock.LA as that wildly and colorfully serpent-painted building on Allesandro Street near Glendale Boulevard. There, under the snakes of this rehearsal and recording venue, this all day block party will feature more than the usual stein fillers; BEDROCKtoberfest will be a celebration of music, food, magic, beer and prost.

The musical lineup includes an impressive and eclectic array of some of today’s biggest, and fastest emerging artists. The lineup will feature Wu Tang Clan’s RZA, Liam Finn, Twin Shadow & Wynn, and Vanaprasta, and will be hosted by German techno/hip-hop mogul Flula Borg.

Pretty sure Bedrock had a “Bedrocktoberfest” several years ago. I should know, because I was there! It was pretty soon after the space opened up.

  2. RZA!!! Twin Shadow!!!
