On The Agenda: Atwater council to consider $5,000 grant to benefit nonprofit; school board member to make presentation

atwater village signThe Atwater Village Neighborhood Council will host a presentation tonight by Los Angeles Unified School District Board Member Bennett Kayser followed by a question and answer period at their monthly board meeting. The body will also decide whether to supply $5,000 to fund a produce stand for Taking The Reins—a nonprofit organization offering horse riding, urban farming and mentorship programs to middle and high school aged girls.

The board will also review:

  • Organizing a Classic Car Show Event with $300 in advertising
  • Approving a grant for the Chevy Chase Recreation Center of an unspecified amount
  • Approving $50 for door hangers for the Community Greening Committee

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 12 in the main room of Christ’s Church of Griffith Park 3852 Edenhurst Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90039. The full agenda is available here.
