Glendale police helicopter makes unscheduled stop at Dodger Stadium

A Glendale police helicopter was forced to land at Dodger Stadium early this morning after a warning light came on indicating there might a problem with the aircraft.

The helicopter, which was believed to have been assisting the Los Angeles Police Department, landed safely without incident, said Glendale Sgt. Mark Hess. It’s not clear whether the helicopter landed in the stadium parking lot or some other nearby open space. The SoCalScanner Twitter feed reported the helicopter came down at about 12:30 a.m.

Attempts to find out what caused the warning light to come on were unsuccessful, Hess said. So, instead of flying back to Glendale, the helicopter was towed back home, he said.
