Laughing skull joins neon giraffe in time for Halloween

Halloween display at Screen Novelties/Mark Caballero

After moving into their new Temple Street offices in the Historic Filipinotown section of Echo Park, the animation firm Screen Novelties restored a 14-foot high sign of a neon giraffe that hangs from the side of their building.   Now, the giraffe has some competition for the public’s attention in the form of a laughing skull the Screen Novelties crew installed in their display window in time for Halloween.

Mark Caballero of Screen Novelties sent over some photos and brief video of the skull in action. The display is animated – of course.
