  1. Uh, what’s a “Red Flag Restricted Parking” mean?

    • There are places that are perfectly fine to park, except on “red flag” days. Red Flag days are days with extreme fire danger, and these parking spaces need to be vacant in the event emergency vehicles need access. Red Flag parking areas are usually in high fire danger neighborhoods, esp if they are hilly with and/or have narrow twisty streets.

  2. The Elliot Smith article is incorrectly linked.

  3. The photo of Echo Park Lake (above) is really extraordinary! I don’t recall seeing any of Alex Thamer’s photography before, so checked online. Here’s a link to some of his other (mostly LA) photos. What a talented
photographer! http://www.flickr.com/photos/acthamer/ (No, I don’t know him…….I’m just so impressed with his body of work)
