The first Atwater Village Day of the Dead Family Festival on Saturday, Nov. 2 will feature loads of kids activities and family fun, including: Community Homemade Salsa Smackdown contest judged by Atwater Village Farm and celebrity chef Curtis Stone (entries being accepted until Fri Nov 1), Kids Workshop by CREATE, Salsa dancing by Heartbeat House, chocolate skulls by Sweets for the Soul, cookie treats by Village Bakery + Cafe, Folklorico dancers, Sugar Skull Candy Painting by Camelot Kids, DJs/Music, Hula Hoop contests, Atzec Dancing Troupe, wicked Calaca Face painting and hair by the Mix Salon, and Altar Memorials by our own Atwater Village families.
Honorary chairs include Curtis Stone, Storage Wars’ Barry Weiss (and his famous skeleton gloves), actress Lindsay Price (a champion folklorico dancer).
