Eagle Rock home damaged in fire

It took firefighters nearly an hour to put out a blaze that broke out this afternoon in the crawl space underneath an Eagle Rock duplex in the 1300 block of Yosemite Drive. No injuries were reported but one woman requested medical attention at the scene.

The fire, which was first reported at about 2:45 p.m.,  forced the closure of Yosemite Drive just west of Wiota Street as fire vehicles and crews jammed the street in front of the duplex, located across from Rockdale Elementary. The school had closed a few hours before the blaze began, according to one employee.

The cause of the fire had not been determined.
