Eastside Property: Two-bedroom Echo Park house joins the million dollar club

It took more than four months, but a two-bedroom  home in the Elysian Heights section of Echo Park  changed hands last week for $1.125 million, according to Redfin.  The mid-century home in the 2100 block of Park Drive sold below its $1.399-million asking price but, according to Redfin,  the hillside property is the first Echo Park single-family home to sell above $1 million in the past three years. In contrast,  more than 100 Silver Lake homes sold above $1 million during the same period.

The same 1,700-square foot house, which comes with a pool,  views to the west and a location across the street from Elysian Park, sold for $1.079 million back in 2004 during the last real estate boom.
