If your apartment building had a name, what would it be?

How about “The Village on Echo Park Ave”?  That’s what the new owners of this formerly nameless apartment complex have christened the property in the 1400 block of Echo Park Avenue, with a new sign in cursive writing now displayed over the main gate. The sign, along with new dark orange trim, appeared after the the pair of buildings, constructed in 1932, were sold this past summer for $1.68 million, according to online property records.

  1. Someone once dubbed my building Estrogen Acres because all but one of the apartments are occupied by women. Some of the tenants have changed since then but the gender ratio hasn’t.

  2. was just looking at this tonight. loos much better than it used to. i like the lights as well.

  3. well at least it can’t be tagged…

  4. I like it!!

  5. My apartment that I grew up at in North Hollywood was called “The Polly Ann”. Don’t know why though. The sign has been gone a long time now. I have been renting a house here in Echo Park since ’98. Doesn’t have a name.

  6. Beats the heck out of the contrived “Pri5m” and “Artis”

  7. Brush Script. Oooof.

  8. I think I’ll name my Silver Lake duplex “Rent-Controlled Robert.”

  9. “the butthole”
you’ll know if you ever visit.
