Look, up in the sky. It’s a bird. It’s a plane. Nope, it’s a drone over Glassell Park

Apparently someone got a drone for Christmas and was flying it over a Glassell Park hillside, according to a YouTube video  posted on Dec. 26. The video shows what’s described as a  Phantom Quad buzzing over the hillside where the Glassselland sign stood earlier this year.  There are also aerial shots from a drone as it hovers overhead. “The moment it crashes, you know the battery is out,” someone is heard saying in the video. This drone, however,  made it back Okay. A similar drone, also called a quadcopter, was spotted flying over the Silver Lake Reservoir on Saturday.

How much for your own drone? Prices on Amazon start at $483 (camera not included).  The product description says that flying your drone indoors is not recommended.

  1. The word drone is only applied when the vehicle or in this case the quad-copter is autonomous.

  2. there was one of these at the SL meadow a few weeks back: https://vine.co/v/h92pYxFre9O
