Fire damages Highland Park hillside home*

It took 50 firefighters about half an hour to put out a fire that broke out this afternoon in a hillside home on the northern edge of Highland Park.  No one was injured in the blaze that began at about 1 p.m. in the 1900 block of Phillips Way, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.  Matt Hartman was on hand to take photos as firefighters extinguished the fire at the the two-story, wood-sided home. No word on what my have caused the fire.

*Update: Three residents inside the home fled with their cats after  smoke began rising through the floor, according to LAFD News & Info blog. The fire caused $230,000 in damage.
