Storefront Report: Signs of change at Mr. T’s Bowl in Highland Park

Back in November The Eastsider reported that the Figueroa Street building that houses Mr. T’s Bowl & Nightclub, a former Highland Park bowling alley turned nightspot, was up for sale at an asking price of $3.25 million. The sales listing is no longer active and it’s not clear if the two-story building has actually sold. But it looks like there’s an effort to reopen a restaurant at that location.

An entity known as Mister T LLC has filed for an alcohol license in connection with an “on-sale, general eating place,” according to online information from the California Alcoholic Beverage Control department. The manager of Mister T LLC is Cyrus Galen Etemad, whose corporation is based out of San Francisco.

Will Etemad seek the return of live music to Mr T’s? What about the bowling alley. Stay tuned.

  1. Hope some major cleaning happens prior to food service

  2. It did sell, looks like they closed on it 1/3/14 for $2,925,000. Sold to a Nevada LLC, but the mailing address is listed as San Francisco, and they have indeed created the ‘Mister T LLC’ mentioned in the article. A reminder that this building is included as a contributing structure of the HPOZ (though it’s been altered).

  3. I hope they build a strip club here. This place has a lot of potential.

Ever since they closed most of the massage parlors I’ve had to drive down to valley every weekend. Since, I’m sketched out of the ‘girls’ around the area.
