A Sunday night of crime in Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock stand off

Sunday night found the LAPD SWAT team responding to a pair of separate incidents in Eagle Rock that ended peacefully, according City News Service. The first involved a three-hour long search for a man armed with a handgun who fled from a vehicle that officers had been pursuing from Cypress Park.  The suspect was eventually captured after the K-9 Unit was called in.  Then, at about 10:30 p.m. some of those same officers responded to a report of a distraught woman with a rifle in the 1400 block of Yosemite Drive. The woman, who was prohibited from owning guns,  displayed the rifle to officers before heading into her home.  The woman turned herself into officers after the four-hour standoff, according to City News.
