Two armed men robbed the Atwater Village Sizzler

Two masked and armed suspects held up the Atwater Village Sizzler and pistol whipped an employee during a Sunday morning robbery, police said.  Customers were present at the Los Feliz Boulevard restaurant when the gunman displayed their weapons and then took money from the safe, said Lt. Patricia Sandoval of the Northeast Division.  The employee who was slapped with a gun did not require to be hospitalized, she said.

The suspects remain at large but police obtained information about the robbers’ getaway vehicle and are continuing to purse the case, Sandoval said. The  robbery appears to be an isolated incident, she said.

  1. When there was an Atwater Village Form @ Friends of Atwater news was reported rather quickly, with discussion. With its demise any news just gets reposted from other blog spots – Eastsider or Tropico.
This leads me to believe that most residents have no idea that anything other than Boolevards, Chamber of Commerce Anniversaries and 2nd Annual Beer Fests happens in Atwater.
It would actually be great if Atwater Village News, Friends of Atwater Village, Neighborhood Council and Chamber of Commerce could all get behind a new forum or at least post current events in Atwater.

  2. So be pro-active and start your own forum/blog.. Etc.

  3. I’ve been on the site since they started and its been fine so far. Just some member squabbles but that’s no different than the Atwater Village Forum was, except now not anonymous

  4. Hi ekirby! Another source of info is the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council Facebook page. In the past, we have put out alerts for urgent matters and posted other news of interest. However, since all of us council members are volunteering and have full time jobs, we could use a little help and have residents inform us if there is breaking news that you would like circulated. If you become aware of news that you want sent out, you could email AVNC with the newslink at [email protected]. Thanks!
