Eastside Property: Silver Lake contemporary seeks new owner at $1.55 million

Silver Lake, homes, real estate
With its wing-like roof and angular form, this 2001 home on the 1700 block of Micheltorena Street seems ready to take off from its perch on a steep hillside. Designed by Silver Lake architect Christopher Payne, the three-bedroom home recently went up for sale at $1.55 million – the same price it sold for in 2007, according to Redfin.  Payne, according to Silver Lake News, built the house for his own residence but then later apparently designed and built another home in Los Feliz (Is Los Feliz still higher up than Silver Lake on the neighborhood pecking order?).

The Redfin listing focuses on light-filled rooms, sunken showers, a detached bonus room/studio and “amazing views of downtown and Century City” that can be enjoyed from multiple balconies.   Will this house top its 2007 sales price? Stay tuned.
