Gunfire strikes vehicle in Silver Lake

SILVER LAKE – A woman driving near Riverside and Fletcher drives came under fire tonight, with one bullet striking her vehicle, police said.   The woman was not injured but police said her vehicle was  hit by a .22 caliber bullet.  The suspects fled on foot from the scene, said Sgt. David Armas with the Northeast Division.

Police are looking for witnesses.  It’s not clear what prompted the shooting, Armas said.

    My instinct would say it’s a case of mistaken identity given the time of night and the likelihood that the driver couldn’t have been readily identified without being right up close.
