SILVER LAKE —  The sight of several LAPD  vehicles and divers  at the Silver Lake Reservoir this morning has attracted attention and raised some concern.  But don’t fear – the LAPD’s Underwater Dive Unit is not looking for weapons or a body. Instead, it’s a training exercise, said Michelle Vargas, a spokeswoman for the L.A. Department of Water and Power, which manages the reservoir.

“It looks like a big operation,” she said of the LAPD vehicles and personnel amassed at the southern end of  reservoir near the Silver Lake Dog Park. The training session is scheduled to end later this afternoon, she said.
