Morning Report: The history of Donald Sterling’s Boyle Heights home; Silver Lake home with lots of views and steps; Glassell Park gunfire

News & Notes:

  • USA Today explores the tangled tax history of Donald Sterling’s boyhood home in Boyle Heights.  The Sterling family still owns the home on North St. Louis Street and, according to a tenant, Sterling and V. Stiviano have visited the place together.
  • It takes 70 steps to reach the front door of a custom-built Silver Lake home but the rewards are sweeping views for its residents, says L.A. Times.
  • Metro to vote on raising base fare 25 cents to $1.75; senior and disabled monthly passes would rise 43%  to $20. The agency’s basic fare  is among the lowest in the nation.  More in Daily News.
  • Lots of gunfire reported in Glassell Park Tuesday night near Eagle Rock Boulevard and Verdguo but there was no evidence that anyone got hit , says Northeast Division.
