Another movie called “Echo Park”

eastsider tv buttonECHO PARK — The new movie  Echo Park  attracted attention recently after the film, which features a “low-key romance” about a woman who moves from Beverly Hills to Echo Park, was screened at the L.A. Film Festival. But it’s not the first movie named after Echo Park. Nearly thirty years ago, Susan Dey (of Partridge Family and L.A. Law fame) and Tom Hulce (who had starred in the Oscar-winning film  Amadeus) appeared in Echo Park, a movie about struggling actors, musicians and artists who live, according to the movie trailer, “in a little bit of heaven….called Echo Park.”

  1. I’ve got a VHS copy of that movie.

  2. and the third member of the primary cast is Michael Bowen, aka Uncle Jack on “Breaking Bad.”

  3. The new one seems pretty derivative. Looking at the movie promo, maybe it should be called 500 Days of Echo Park:
