Car plunges off Elysian Park hillside

Firefighters responded early this evening to a report of  a car  going over the side of Angels Point Road in Elysian Park  and down a hillside.  They found the car – a green Honda Accord sedan – on a hill above the Police Academy shortly after 6 p.m. but  no victims, said Capt. Joe  Everett.  Some men, however, were seen running from the scene and getting into another vehicle, he said.  Park Rangers were being called to handle the removal of the vehicle. he said.

  1. Why does nobody stay behind at the scene of an accident in LA? This doesn’t happen in other parts of the country. I’m honestly interested to hear what the Eastsider’s circulation thinks.

    • That is precisely the assumption that a drunk or careless driver is relying on to successfully pull-off a hit-and-run insurance claim. No harm, no foul.

  4. They do this in Baja Mexico all the time. Sadly the cars just remain to rot along the beach.
