Eastside Property: Geodesic dome life on Mt. Washington

Photo from Redfin.com

MOUNT WASHINGTON — For those house hunters who are not into fussy Victorians, tiny bungalows or boxy Modernist homes, there’s this geodesic dome house on Rome Court that recently went up for sale.  Under this dome you will find three bedrooms, two baths and a some brightly colored walls painted shades of lime, yellow and orange . The acoustics in this  “magical geodesic dome”   “will astound any musician” and the large wall spaces “will dazzle the art collectors,” according to the Redfin listing.

How much to live in this R. Buckminster Fuller-inspired home?  The owners are asking $699,000.

  1. And there’s a geodesic house for sale right now at 4020 Paige St, across the arroyo in Montecito Heights.

There’s a handful of domes in Northeast LA. I remember one next to Occidental college, by Mt Fiji & one on Colorado Bvd in Eagle Rock, close to Cindy’s Cafe.
