News & Notes:

  • The body of a two-year-old girl was found Tuesday night underneath a trundle bed that had collapsed on her in Highland Park, reports L.A. Now. The girl was being baby-sat in the 5200 block of Glen Ellen Place when she disappeared. One officer told L.A. Now that it appeared that the death was an accident.
  • About a half dozen homes in El Sereno will be put up for sale this fall by Caltrans as the state highway agency begins selling properties it purchased decades ago to extend the 710 Freeway, reports the Daily News.  A total of 53 properties in Los Angeles, Pasadena and South Pasadena will be sold in the first phase of sales.
