One dead in Lincoln Heights shooting

A 40-year-old man was fatally shot shortly after midnight today in the 2200 block of Thomas Street in Lincoln Heights, police said.  The victim, Edgar Pastor, fled in his vehicle following the shooting and was found by officers in a nearby alley after he was involved in a traffic collision,  according to a statement issued by the LAPD Hollenbeck Division.

Pastor died from  his injuries at L.A. County-USC Medical Center.
