Police investigating Highland Park shooting [updated]

HIGHLAND PARK — Officers tonight are checking reports of a shooting near Figueroa Street and Avenue 56, according to a tweet by the Northeast Division. No further details were immediately available.

Update @ 9:12 P.M.:  Northeast gang officers are out in the field looking for a possible suspect involved in the shooting, said Sgt. Wayne Guillary with the Northeast Division. No one was hit by gunfire when shots were fired from a yellow SUV as it drove past a parked black SUV, according to preliminary police information. One man was assaulted during a fight in connection with the shooting.

Update: @ABC7 says it was a car-to-car shooting, with both vehicles driving away after the incident.
