Halloween goes to the dogs (and at least one tortoise)

The dog parks in Hermon and Silver Lake held Halloween costume contests on Sunday, with canine contestants dressed up in a wide variety of outfits, ranging from a lion and pilot to an Echo Park taco truck and a tortoise – No, wait. That was a real tortoise disguised to look like a spider. Who knew that tortoises like to dress up?

  1. It’s official: Our generation is just plain WEIRD. Guess this is what happens when you put off having a family until your late 30s or early 40s. This is the stuff that PETA should be up in arms about. Poor dogs have no dignity!

    • There have been calls to let the freak flag fly for a long time – its just that now, being weird has finally broken through. People want to be weird, or nerds, or whatever…
Also: dogs do not have dignity. They spend a lot of time licking their privates, sniffing rear ends, and trying to eat the scat of other animals. They are great – but not always the most dignified…
