On The Agenda: Beer & burritos in Eagle Rock; state candidates make their pitch at El Sereno forum; new bar in Echo Park

This week a burrito chain wants to give customers the chance to order an adult beverage in Eagle Rock, and  owners of The York want to continue operating their Highland Park bar/gastropub as they approach a hearing with the Planning Department. In El Sereno,  candidates seeking to represent the  24th State Senate District and  the 51st Assembly District will present their views during a forum with local residents.

Eagle Rock

You’ll never have to drive to two locations to pair beer and burritos again. The applicant, Chipotle Mexican Grill, is seeking a conditional permit for the sale of a full line of alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption. The 1,983 square-foot restaurant will seat 33 inside and four on an outdoor patio at 5045 N. Eagle Rock Boulevard. Thursday, October 30.

Highland Park

The York at 5018 E. York Boulevard  is asking to continue serving a full line of beer and liquor for on-site consumption featuring live entertainment at the 3,441 square-foot restaurant/gastropub. Tuesday, October 28.

Echo Park

Planning and Land Use Committee will hear from the applicant at 1412 N. Glendale Boulevard for a possible Beer and Wine permit. The applicant will present floor plan drawings and a complete description of the 2,163 sq. ft. bar, which is currently listed as ‘Semi-Tropic’ on the application. Tuesday, October 28.

El Sereno/Rose Hills

Residents of El Sereno can put in their two cents on the management of El Sereno Arroyo playground. The Vecinos Playground meeting will discuss maintenance updates, a possible mural and conversations with members of the Council Office and LAPD.

Candidates for State Senator 24th District and Assembly member 51st District will hold a candidates forum at Rose Hills Recreation Center. Candidates include Peter Choi challenging State Senator Kevin de León and Stephen C. Smith challenging assembly member Jimmy Gomez. Wednesday, October 29.
