Screenshot 2014-10-18 at 12.04.15 PMSILVER LAKE — While Alimento’s water policy might have stirred up controversy, the  menu of the Italian restaurant has won has over many customers, including Sandy Driscoll of Silver Lake.  Her favorite item? The very meaty pork shank:

That pork shank was like an Italian version of the best carnitas you have ever eaten, and it was hot, fork tender and falling off the bone.  A truly splendid dish!  I’ve read all of Alimento’s reviews and none of the reviewers seemed to mention it. But looking at the menu, it just appealed to me.  Fabulous entree and more than enough to take home.  I now have a nice package of shredded pork shoulder to use in Green Chile Stew, or tacos or whatever.
