Two persons were plucked from the rain-swollen L.A. River and power went out in parts of Echo Park, Silver Lake and Los Feliz this morning as a powerful and fast-moving Pacific storm drenched the area. Downed trees and power lines snarled traffic, and Gold Line train service was disrupted after a tree fell near a station in Pasadena.
