Crash triggers Sigalert on 101 Freeway in Echo Park

ECHO PARK — Three northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway were closed in Echo Park this morning following the crash of a vehicle that might have been involved in a police pursuit, according to preliminary information.

One resident reported seeing a vehicle on its side near the Echo Park Avenue exit. The CHP, on its Traffic Incident Information website, said a SigAlert was declared shortly before 9.am. following a traffic collision with injuries.

The LAPD said the driver who was being pursued was a suspect in several crimes and was apprehended in an apartment complex near the crash, according to NBC LA.
