Falling tree knocks out power in Silver Lake [updated]

SILVER LAKE — A large tree that fell across Griffith Park Boulevard at Lyric Avenue has blocked the street and knocked out power in the area this morning, reports KTLA and other news media.

About 2,300 L.A. DWP customers- that’s up from an earlier estimate of 1,700 – are without power, according to the agency’s outage map. Service is not expected to be fully restored until 2 p.m.

Update: Power was fully restored by about 10 a.m., according L.A. DWP.
